Our Approach
ANN Times follows a strict verification process designed to keep errors out of our reporting. Every fact we publish must meet clear standards, especially on sensitive topics like politics, health, business, international affairs, and investigations.
Verification Standards
We follow a fixed rule for every news report:
- Minimum of 2–3 official and credible sources
Not rumors. Not speculation. Not anonymous claims without verification. - Independent verification by editors
We confirm details ourselves rather than relying solely on what a source states. - Additional rule:
No major claim is published unless at least one source is independent of the others to avoid repeating the same information from a single origin point.
When a topic requires deeper expertise — science, health, data analysis, technology, or investigative material — we consult external experts in addition to our standard sourcing.
Expert Consultation
We bring in subject-matter experts whenever a story involves:
- scientific data
- medical or health information
- technical systems
- cybersecurity
- environmental or research-based claims
Their insights help ensure the accuracy and clarity of complex topics.
User-Submitted Information
Reader tips, photos, eyewitness accounts, or documents are treated as leads, not facts.
We verify every user-submitted detail through:
- the author’s verification process
- reference checks
- cross-confirmation with official or independent sources
Nothing user-submitted is published without confirmation.
Breaking News Protocol
Real-time news moves fast, but accuracy still comes first.
Here’s the protocol we adopt:
- Publish only what is confirmed through official statements, reliable authorities, or independently verified facts.
- Clearly label developing information so readers know what is confirmed and what is still being updated.
- Update continuously as new verified information comes in.
- Avoid speculation, assumptions, or unverified numbers during the early stages.
Speed never overrides accuracy.
Use of AI
AI is used strictly for:
- research support
- organizing information
- drafting assistance
- powering our own AI chatbot learning
But ANN Times never uses AI for fact checking.
Verification is always done by human editors using official and independent sources.
Corrections and Review
A correction is issued whenever an inaccuracy is confirmed through:
- reader feedback
- internal review
- credible third-party fact-checkers
If a published report is updated or corrected, we add a note when appropriate so readers understand what changed and why.
Final Responsibility
ANN Times is responsible for ensuring that every piece of information we publish holds up under scrutiny.
Fact-checking is not a final step — it’s part of the entire editorial process.
