Trump Erupts at Reporter Over Epstein Question, Calls ABC “Not Credible”
Donald Trump shot back at a reporter who pressed him on Jeffrey Epstein, saying, “I have nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein,” before escalating into a sharp personal attack. “You’re a terrible person and a terrible reporter,” he said, holding up what he described as notes detailing Epstein’s political connections. Trump claimed Epstein “gave money to Democrats” and “gave me none,” insisting he had documentation “in his pocket.”
He praised Epstein’s earlier reputation in financial circles, saying the disgraced financier was once considered “a respected person,” before pivoting to a broader assault on media coverage. Trump singled out ABC, calling it “a crappy media company” and arguing that its broadcast license should be reviewed. According to him, the network’s coverage is “97 percent negative to Trump,” which he said proves “your news is obviously not credible.” He added, “You are not a credible reporter.”
Trump pushed the reporter to investigate Democrats who had accepted money from Epstein. He pointed to figures he claimed had long-standing proximity to Epstein, saying, “Larry Summers was with him all the time.” He also called for scrutiny of tech billionaire Reid Hoffman, saying, “I don’t know who he is, but he should be under investigation in my opinion. He is a sleaze bag, and they don’t get any news.”
The exchange grew more tense as Trump accused the network of bias, calling it “a radical left network” and criticizing the tone of the reporter’s question. “The anger and the meanness is terrible,” he said. “You have to go back and learn how to be a reporter. No more questions from you.”
