Former U.S. Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor has sparked controversy with claims that American military infrastructure in the Middle East has been devastated during the escalating conflict with Iran.
Speaking during a recent commentary, Macgregor said that “all of our bases have been destroyed” and that key harbor installations used by U.S. forces have also been knocked out, forcing Washington to rely on alternative logistical routes in the region.
The remarks – which rapidly circulated across social media and geopolitical discussion circles — were framed as an assessment of the military balance following Iranian retaliatory strikes in response to U.S.-Israeli operations targeting Iran.
According to Macgregor, China and Russia are allegedly providing satellite intelligence to Iran, helping Tehran track American positions and movements during the conflict.
“China and Russia are providing satellite intelligence,” he said, adding that the United States now has to “fall back on India and Indian ports,” a scenario he described as strategically problematic.
